ONE of Mansfield’s largest supermarkets is to get even bigger and create new jobs in the town.
Tesco’s Oak Tree Lane estate store, on Jubilee Way, is increasing its size by 20,000 sq ft over two floors by making use of two empty units next to the store.
Work began on Monday and is expected to come to an end in October.
Bosses say the move has been sparked by customer requests for a larger store with more choice.
Store manager Alan Jackson said: “We are really excited to be extending our store.
“I would like to take this opportunity to reassure customers and local residents that we will do all we can to ensure that any disruption caused during the work is minimal.
“We want to keep things as normal as possible throughout this period for our shoppers.”
The extension will include an opticians, photo shop, dry cleaners, and travel money exchange.
