Terminally ill Mansfield mum announces dream wedding day

A terminally ill Mansfield mum and her husband to be have announced the venue and date of their wedding day.

Leanna Cox who has fought a tough battle against Hodkins Lymphoma, moved a whole community when she launched a fundraising drive for a dream wedding to the love of her life.

Now Leanna and husband to be William Boulton have announced they to marry on Saturday 18th April at Newstead Abbey.

Leanna said: “I want to thank everyone for everything they have done for Will and me it has been amazing.

“We had a lots of people offer us stuff which has took us a while to sort through and we will let everyone know in due course.”

The couple say they have been ‘overwhelmed’ by the generosity of the community offering to help make her dream wedding a reality.

Jo Hunt commercial manager at Newstead Abbey, said: “When we heard about Leanna and William we just wanted to help. We wish them all the best - there is no better place for a wedding in such a romantic setting.”

Chad readers responded in their hundreds to offer everything they could need, from venues, receptions and wedding outfits to transport arrangements catering and cakes.

An online appeal raised a total of £7,334.

William was recently presented with a cheque for £660 from the owners of Illusions night club who donated the proceeds of the door entry money on Christmas Eve.
