Teenager remains critical after crash outside of college

A teenager who was involved in a road accident yesterday remains in a serious condition.

The 17-year-old pedestrian was in collision with a car on the A60 at around 4pm near to Portland College.

She was taken to Nottingham’s Queens Medical Centre for treatment for life-threatening injuries.

Police say she remains in a critical condition.

A section of the A60 between the Larch Farm and Marr Route junctions remained closed for hours last night while investigators conducted enquiries.

No arrests have been made in connection with this incident although crash investigators are urging anyone who may have witnessed the collision or the vehicles involved to contact Nottinghamshire Police.

Detectives are particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have been on the Stagecoach ‘Pronto’ bus which left Nottingham city centre at just after 3.20pm and was travelling through the area at the time of the collision.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or who has any information is asked to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 573 of September 28.
