Teen cyclist critically injured in Mansfield road traffic accident

A 14-year-old cyclist who received life-threatening injuries during a road traffic accident near Cauldwell Wood, Mansfield, remains critically ill in hospital.

He was air-lifted to Nottingham’s Queen’s Medical Centre following the collision with a Honda Jazz car which happened just before 1.30pm on Saturday (13TH April).

The 72-year-old car driver was shaken but unharmed. No one else was injured.

The road is expected to remain closed in both directions for a number of hours between the A60 and Hamilton Road while police conduct their enquiries.
