Storyteller Sophie Snell will be entertaining children at the DH Lawrence Heritage Centre in Eastwood this half-term as part of a special Tales From The Sea event.

Nottinghamshire may be a long way from the sea, but Sophie will whisk up a tale or two from those far distant shores telling mysterious tales of sea monsters, pirates, seal maidens and a sea-faring cat.

The event is on February 17 and there will be drop-in sessions throughout the day at 11.30am, 12.30pm, 1.30pm and 2.30pm.

Children can also have a go at fun crafts and a themed trail.

Admission is £3.50 per child with discounts available for Broxtowe Leisure Card Holders and DH Lawrence Heritage. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Sophie was nominated for a BASE (British Awards for Storytelling Excellence) last year under the category ‘Outstanding Female Storyteller 2013’.

With a wide repertoire of stories she travels to perform all over the UK.
