Sutton street evacuated following bomb scare
A busy high street in Sutton was evacuated on Friday after a suspicious package was found.
Police responded to a report of a suspicious substance at premises on Welbeck Street.
A Nottinghamshire Police spokesman said: “Old Chapel House and properties in the immediate vicinity were evacuated as a precaution.”
A 16-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of threats to carry out criminal damage. He has been released on police bail pending further inquiries.
