Amie Louise Hibbert, 29, of Main Street, Huthwaite, admitted assault when she appeared before Mansfield magistrates on Wednesday.

The court heard Hibbert knocked the woman off her feet in the Market Inn, in HUthwaite, at around 11.30pm on May 14.

Robert Carr, prosecuting, said: “Miss Hibbert started clawing at her and hit the woman’s head on the floor.

People tried to drag her off but she came back and grabbed the woman by the hair and pulled her outside.”

Her victim was left with a scratched neck, bruised arms and a sore head.

Sarah Neale, mitigating, said Hibbert, who has a son but lives with her mother, accepted grabbing the woman but denied clawing her.

Hibbert told police the scuffle took place ‘because the woman kept staring at her with no explanation’ and she lost her temper.

She said she had been drinking at the time and could not fully remember the incident.

She was fined £80, and ordered to pay court costs of £85 and compensation of £30.
