Sutton man on terrorism charges admits sending money to help Syrian war victims

A Sutton man has told a court he sent money to Syria to help war victims, the BBC has reported.

Adeel Ulhaq appeared at the Old Bailey where he faces terrorism related charges.

Ulhaq told the jury he sent £200 to Syria for amunition to defend women against Government atrocities.

He denies helping a cardiff teenager to get to Syria and join up with Islamic State militants.

Yesterday he told the court he wanted to help war victims in Syria and his fiance had travelled to Syria without telling him.
