HUNDREDS of folk headed to Sutton Lawn on Saturday for an action-packed free family fun day.
The Sutton Summer Spectacular was a big hit despite the changeable weather, and folk from the Carsic, Leamington and New Cross area enjoyed a number of free activities including KMX karting, face painting and circus skills workshops.
There were more than 150 stall holders fundraising for local charities and raising awareness of businesses and organisations.
Ashfield Fare Share Trust arranged the event and grant manager Sarah Thorpe said the day had been a big success and they now had a number of other projects in the pipeline.
“It was a great day, and the weather held off right until about 3.45pm when we were just finishing up”she said.
“I think everyone really enjoyed themselves and we had a lot of good feedback from the stallholders.”
Nottinghamshire Police dog handlers put on a display with their trained dogs and police cars and horses were also on display. Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue also attended.
One lucky family one £500 worth of bikes in the raffle - the top prize amongst a host of prizes donated by local firms.
