Sutton-in-Ashfield: Police appeal to help trace offender in attempted robbery

Police are asking members of the public to help trace an offender who attempted to rob a Sutton-in-Ashfield off-licence on Sunday evening, 30th November.

A man walked into Buttar’s Off-Licence in Kirkby Road at about 6pm, threatened a member of staff with what is believed to be a firearm and demanded cash.

However, the offender left the premises on foot empty-handed.

No one was injured and the weapon was not discharged.

The offender is described as white, around 5ft 6ins to 5ft 7ins tall, of slim to medium build and about 25 years of age.

He was wearing a dark hooded top and also wore a red and white Nottingham Forest scarf to cover the lower part of his face.

Police are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time, and who may have seen or heard anyone acting suspiciously, or matching the description above.
