The daughter of an elderly couple who were buried in their back garden in Forest Town has appeared in court alongside her husband.
Susan Edwards (55) and Christopher John Edwards (57) have each been charged with two counts of murder and made a brief appearance at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court this morning, Saturday 2nd November.
Both in custody, they were each led into the courtroom by a security officer and sat several feet apart from each other. Both dressed in dark sweatshirts they each spoke only to confirm their names and age. Neither gave an address, because it is thought both were living abroad until recently.
It was reported that police arrested the pair at St Pancras train station in London. After questioning, police charged the pair last night with murdering Patricia Dorothy Wycherley and William Godfrey Wycherley between 1st and 31 May 1998. Although not confirmed, police are confident the bodies found were that of the elderly pair.
Tests revealed that the bodies found under the Forest Town house on Blenheim Close on 9th October had been shot.
Susan and Christopher Edwards made no application for bail and are due to appear at Nottingham Crown Court on Monday, 4th November.
