Survey launched on adult mental health services in Nottinghamshire

Ashfield people are being asked about their experiences of Adult Mental Health Services in Nottinghamshire.

During October Healthwatch Nottinghamshire will focus on collecting people’s experiences about Adult Mental Health services.

A spokesman for Healthwatch Nottinghamshire said: “Are you a member of a local support group? If so we’d really like to come along and listen to your stories, so please just give us a call. “We will be using all the stories we gather to support the development of the county wide mental health strategy, and help to ensure that everyone’s experiences of these services are the same. “People shouldn’t worry about being identified through their involvement - all the feedback we gather will be fed into a report that summarises the key messages about what works and what doesn’t. It won’t include names or any personal information.

“We are keen to ensure that local mental health services reflect the needs of the local communities they support.

“We have had some information that suggests that people’s experiences vary across the county, particularly experiences of waiting times for services.

“We need to find out more about people’s experiences, which we can feedback to providers and commissioners of mental health services and which, we hope, will contribute to the further development of the County-wide Mental Health Strategy and local discussions about contracting and quality.”

People can feedback their views and experiences of Adult Mental Health services on 01159 635179, via email at [email protected]

There is an on-line survey on www.healthwatchnottinghamshire.co.uk/mh or a paper version of the survey that will be made available on request.
