Successful charity fundraiser

The service which followed was led by the Reverend Richard Seymour-Whiteley, with Heather Brown preaching and leading prayers. Readings were by Robert Brown and Linda Goldby, and John White played the organ. Harvest gifts were donated to the Food bank at Newark.

After the service a harvest supper was held in the Cator Hall, with Margaret Coupland providing the main course and volunteers providing sweets. It was a very enjoyable evening and was well attended. Money raised from the collection plate and the supper is to be donated to Mary’s Meals, a charity regularly supported by St Andrew’s, and the Newark Foodbank.Meanwhile, a Macmillan Coffee Morning was held at Eakring’s Cator Hall. This is an annual event held in memory of Dorothy Walker. Stalls included a cake stall, sweet tombola, crafts, cards and jewellery. Tea, coffee and cakes were served. The event was organised by Eakring Women’s Institute and raised £733.83.
