Students and staff enjoy Christmas market at Manor Academy

On the last day of term before the Christmas break, The Manor Academy swapped pencils for baubles at a Christmas market.

Hundreds of students and staff visited the market during the day and helped raise £383.78.

Half of the money raised will go to charity and the other half will go into the school enterprise fund which ensures events like this can be organized in the future.

Eileen Dunn, the organiser, said the day was a success for all students and involved a collaboration of subjects from across the school, from childcare to art.

Students from the Manor 6th Form and staff also sang a variety of songs as part of a choir to all of the younger students followed by a rapturous applause.

The day ended with the judging of the best cake competition, which involved students bringing in cakes and sweet treats of all shapes and sizes.
