Street star in Palace panto

Coronation Street star Vicky Entwistle has been confirmed as the headline name in this year’s Christmas pantomime at Mansfield Palace Theatre.

The much-loved soap actress, who is well known for playing loudmouth factory worker Janice Battersby, will be playing the Wicked Fairy in Sleeping Beauty.

Speaking about coming to Mansfield, Vicky said: “I love pantomimes and seem to have a track record for playing villains! It’s about the kids at the end of the day, I love to hear them booing or hissing because getting a reaction is what it’s all about.

“For a lot of the audience this might be their first experience of a stage performance and it’s an opportunity to show people what going to the theatre is all about.

“Sleeping Beauty will be my first time visiting Mansfield and I’m looking forward to meeting the locals and becoming part of the community for seven weeks.”

Tickets for Sleeping Beauty, which runs from 29th November until 4th January 2015 are selling fast, with almost 4,500 tickets - 15 per cent of those available - already sold.
