Star acts set for Pines shows

Sherwood Pines is preparing for its biggest week of the year as three top music acts get ready to perform to capacity crowds.

Songstress Jessie J, Irish boyband Boyzone and the Modfather Paul Weller will all be performing at the Edwinstowe venue later this week,

Pop icon Jessie J will take to the stage at the Edwinstowe venue on Friday 13th June as part of the Forestry Commissions regular series of summer outdoor concerts.

Highlights have included No 1 singles and two hugely successful albums that headed straight for the top with millions of sales worldwide, show-stopping performances in front of a global audience of billions at the London Olympics, a full-blown Saturday night prime-time TV career, extraordinary acts for charity that hit the headlines, Glastonbury festival and the Diamond Jubilee Concert.

Boyzone will perform on Thursday 12th June in a continuation of the celebration of their BZ20 anniversary.

The Irish boyband have had 21 singles, seven albums and sold 25m records during their 20 year career.

Ronan said: “It will be great to perform our hits in such beautiful locations.”

Cultural icon Paul Weller will headline Sherwood Pines on Saturday 14th June.

It’s been thirty years since Paul Weller first exploded onto the music scene, suited and booted, and armed with statement tunes in The Jam, before forming the Style Council and cutting out an impressive solo career.

Forest Live is an independent programme organised by the Forestry Commission to bring music to new audiences without commercial branding or sponsorship. Income from the concerts is spent on improving the woodland for both people and wildlife.
