Stags do their bit for cancer charity

The club held bucket collections at a number of hotspots in and around One Call Stadium prior to their Sky Bet League Two win against Newport County on Saturday.

Prostate Cancer UK’s Director of Fundraising, Mark Bishop, said: “We have been blown away by the positivity generated by our Men United v Prostate Cancer campaign and as official charity partner of the Football League and it is fantastic to be able to further enhance that synergy as part of these special days.

“It is great to see clubs up and down the country join together to make a difference to men’s health, not just on behalf of its own fans but on behalf of all men across the country too.”

Stags support for Prostate Cancer UK will continue in the summer when four club representatives, including Chairman John Radford, will cycle from London to Amsterdam to raise funds for the charity.

The Stags’ chief will be joined by Stags’ head of media and communications Mark Stevenson, scoreboard operator Stuart Eggleshaw and club mascot Doug Carroll - better known as Sammy the Stag.

Chairman John Radford said: “I am proud to lead Mansfield Town on this exciting journey and at the same time raise money and awareness for a great cause.”
