Squabble between neighbours in court

A Blidworth man has been fined £250 after admitting calling a neighbour an offensive name and making threats towards him.

Mansfield magistrates were told how Nicki Clamp (27), of Hillside Road, approached the victim on his bicycle one afternoon on the street where they both lived, called him an offensive name and said ‘we are going to sort you out.’

His defending solicitor said: “There have been comments from the complainant towards my client, but he told me he then made comments back. It is, in my submission, pettiness of the utmost.”

Clamp was also made to pay court costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £25.

A magistrate said he should be the bigger man and walk away.
