Sporting donation made to residents

Residents of a Mansfield care home for people with learning disabilities and complex needs are to receive £1,000 of funding for sports sessions, thanks to a donation by the Nottinghamshire Community Foundation.

Sanctuary Supported Living’s Corner House, on St Margaret Street, played host to Nottinghamshire Police and Crime Commissioner , who also chairs the foundation.

Mr Tipping presented a cheque for the funds to the Corner House Trust, which is managed by residents and oversees donations to the service, as well as spending funds on activities for residents.

Residents will be able to use the funds to pay for a range of sports sessions, including golf, table tennis, snooker, swimming and trampoline lessons.

Corner House spokesman Janice Spencer said: “This donation will be of great benefit to our residents in providing them with a range of healthy activities to take part in.”

Mr Tipping added: “These groups are doing important work for our local residents and they deserve our support.”
