The team at Specsavers on West Gate has chosen to back The Hall Homeless Support Centre on Westfield Lane in Mansfield, to show its support for the charity’s continued hard work to provide a safe environment for homeless young people to get support, advice and guidance.

Staff at Specsavers in the town have recently installed an in-store collection point for the charity and are encouraging customers to come in and donate non-perishable food produce, which will then be donated to the centre.

The store has previously collected items for Christmas hampers for the charity and the team has also helped volunteers at the Centre serve Christmas dinner to its visitors.

Imogen Hoyle, store director at Specsavers in Mansfield, said: “As a longstanding business serving our local community for a number of years, we feel it is important to make a commitment to raise money for a local charity.

“The Hall Homeless Support Centre is a great cause which benefits so many local people. I’d like to ask our loyal customers to come into store and drop any non-perishable food items into our collection point, which will go towards helping vulnerable homeless people in Mansfield.”

The store also plans to hold raffles, tombolas and fundraising days throughout 2014 to raise valuable funds for the charity.
