Specialist Mansfield HART team mobilised after 'fall' at Sherwood Pines

An ambulance crew and a specialist hazardous area response team were mobilised after reports that a person had fallen at Sherwood Pines.

East Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust received the emergency call at the beauty spot, between Clipstone and Edwinstowe, at 4.10pm on Saturday.

The Mansfield-based HART team joined an ambulance crew and a person was taken to King’s Mill Hospital, although it is not known what injuries they suffered.

An EMAS spokesperson said: “The caller had reported a person had fallen. We sent a crewed ambulance and our Hazardous Area Response Team was sent as a precaution.

The HART team is made up of specially-recruited and trained EMAS personnel who provide an ambulance response and support during major emergency incidents.

It was one of the first teams of its type set up outside London and attends around 120 calls per month (not including normal 999 calls.)
