MANSFIELD Citizen’s Advice Bureau (CAB) is still offering a free professional advice service for residents at its Brunts Business Centre office despite the latest Government cutbacks.
Specialist advisers offering help with debt, welfare benefits, drug-related problems and appeals representation are available in person and over the telephone.
Last year the company handled close to £15m worth of debt and it is estimated that there will be an increase on this figure within the next 12 months.
A Mansfield CAB spokesman said: “With proposed changes to the benefit system we welcome people contacting us for help with general and specialist advice and with appeals representation.
“This includes individuals who are currently receiving income support, severe disability allowance and incapacity benefit who are being changed over to employment and support allowance
“In addition, we have recruited a new group of volunteer advisers who will be trained specifically to deal with telephone enquiries.
“If you are interested in joining our organisation in a similar role, please contact us at email@example.com.”
l The Brunts Business Centre is based off Woodhouse Road in Mansfield while service users can call the telephone advice line on 0844 856 3411 or debt telephone advice line on 0844 848 7908.
