SOUTH NORMANTON: Roof fire in house
Firefighters from Alfreton, Ashfield and Chesterfield attended a house fire in South Normanton shortly after midnight today (Friday, February 28th).
A spokesman said that the fire had taken hold in the roof of the two-storey house in Carter Lane East and a special ladder platform was called in to help extinguish the blaze.
One male occupant was taken to hospital suffering from smoke inhalation and crews were at the scene until around 7am.
