Nottinghamshire Police last night said that some of the residents affected by a huge fire in Mansfield were allowed to return home

Firefighters were called to the blaze, involving a derelict factory on Victoria Street, shortly after 7pm on Tuesday.

A Nottinghamshire Police spokesperson said: "Those who remain unable to go back to their homes have been contacted by officers and accommodation arrangements have been made.

"A joint investigation has been launched by Nottinghamshire Police and Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service into how the fire started.

"Anyone with information is asked to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, quoting incident number 869 of July 31, 2018."
