SLIDESHOW: Thousands enjoy family fun day at Southwell

On top of the eight jumps races, there was a host of extra entertainment for families to enjoy in the sunshine.

For the children, there was Paddington Bear, fun fair rides and a travelling show, while for the adults, Nottingham Forest legend John McGovern, was on hand to sign autographs and pose for photographs.

Mark Clayton, racecourse executive director, said: “The day itself went very well indeed, with nice weather and a big crowd.

“I would like to say a thank you to Southwell’s Holy Trinity Primary School in assisting us to select Paddington Bear as our primary source of children’s entertainment on the day.”
