Singing Sutton bar manager Steven Alexander will live to fight another day on hit BBC show, The Voice.

The 27-year-old, who works at the Junction Bar and Restaurant, appeared to be heading out of the talent show when mentor Kylie Minogue picked Leo Ihenacho after the pair had gone head to head with a rendition of Leo Sayers’ hit, Thunder In My Heart.

But tonight Steven earned a sensational reprieve when judge Sir Tom Jones used the first ‘steal’ - where other coaches get to choose an exiting contestant for their own team - to bolster his ranks.

Speaking about his new recruit, Sir Tom said: “You’re a great singer, really. Steven is too good to go, he’s got a lot of promise.”
