Single mum hit parked car on way to job trial

A single mother from New Houghton has been banned from driving for three years after hitting a car on the way to a work trial, following a late-night drinking bout.

Chantel Crosse, 28, of Crompton Street, hit a parked car while drunk on her way to work at the Rose and Crown pub, in Stoneyford Road, Sutton, on 2nd November.

She did not stop at the scene but was spotted by a relative of the driver pulling into the pub, Mansfield Magistrates court was told.

The mother-of-two had been drinking until 3am and did not know she had hit the vehicle until police arrived at the pub, the court heard.

She was banned from driving for three years as she had been banned once before, fined £110 and ordered to pay a £20 victim surcharge.
