POLICE are searching for a woman who has gone missing from her Shirebrook home.

Michelle Phillips (44) left her house on Alder Close at around 6.30pm on Monday, 25th June.

Derbyshire Police officers say she has not been seen since and are concerned about her safety.

A force spokesman said on Monday that Michelle has not contacted her family and her disappearance is out of character.

“Police are concerned for her welfare,” the spokesman said.

She is 5ft 3ins tall, of medium build, with shoulder length brown hair.

Ms Phillips’ daughter Chantelle Neal (18), said: “Everyone is devastated. It is just not in her character to do anything like this and she seemed quite happy everytime I rang her.”

Miss Neal said her mother, who is originally from Loughborough, had only been living in Shirebrook for three weeks and did not know the area well.

She added: “We cannot understand why she has not come back home and I would just say if anyone has seen or heard of her to get in touch with the police.”

Anyone with information about her whereabouts should call Derbyshire police on 101.
