Shirebrook store staff raise funds for firefighters

Kind-hearted Co-op staff have worked tirelessly to give back to firefighters.

The food store at Victoria Street, Shirebrook, has helped raise £30,000 to support The Fire Fighters Charity, which offers a range of services including rehabilitation to firefighters. To raise the funds, staff ran marathons, hosted raffles, cake sales, pub quizzes and even took part in a sky dive.Danny Howarth, Co-op regional manager, said: “I would like to thank our members, colleagues and customers in Mansfield for their fantastic support. “Firefighters put their own lives at risk to help others and so I am delighted we have been able to raise funds to help this worthy cause.”The store will continue to raise money for a further 12 months.
