The headteacher of a school has paid tribute to his staff after it received its second outstanding Ofsted report while still getting used to life in a brand new building.
Stubbin Wood School in Common Lane, Shirebrook, only moved to its new site last year but inspectors have given it a glowing report, noting that throughout the transition and familiarising process there was no drop in the teaching standard and the learning ability of the pupils.
And, their report noted, the new facilities at the new site have only added to the learning experience.
Headteacher Lee Floyd said said: “The outstanding status just validates all the hard work that everyone here puts into everything they do.
“We’ve moved to the new site, taken on more staff, increased the number of children on the roll and to have all that change going on without a single drop in the standard of teaching and learning is fantastic.
“We have come to expect nothing less for ourselves but having it confirmed again is great news.” Stubbin Wood School has about 150 pupils aged between two and 19.
