Shirebook man up for Royal award

A SHIREBROOK man who has turned his life around with help from The Prince’s Trust has been nominated for a prestigious royal award.

David Taylor (26) is up for the RBS Enterprise Award at The Prince’s Trust and Samsung Celebrate Success Awards in Derby tonight.

He has been nominated for successfully turning his back on a life of drugs and alcohol to start his own business venture Jump4Joy - hiring out bouncy castles - with the help of the trust.

David, who was diagnosed dyslexic as a youngster, has grown his business and is now looking to open a party shop.

Said David: “With The Prince’s Trust I realised there were people who cared about me, and my life changed beyond recognition.

“There is no way I would have achieved what I have without their support.”

Thom Kenrick, head of inspiring enterprise at the RBS Group, paid tribute to David for his hard work.

He said: “We congratulate David for being shortlisted for the RBS Award. We are delighted to sponsor this prestigious award which recognises young people who have overcome barriers and achieved success in creating a sustainable business or social enterprise.”
