Sherwood MP serves up a cuppa for RVS

Sherwood MP Mark Spencer pulled on a pinny and served up a cuppa to raise awareness of the Royal Voluntary Service as part of The Great Brew Week which ran from 28th April to 4th May.

A recent poll showed that the traditional British tea break is under threat like never before.

Nearly three-quarters of over 75s that live alone feel lonely. A nice cup of tea and a chat can make all the difference, whether it’s in keeping the workplace happy or cheering up an older person who might not have seen anyone else all week.

“That’s why I am asking you to support the humble tea break and Royal Voluntary Service, by simply pledging to make tea for your colleagues,” said Mr Spencer who did his bit at Under One Roof in Hucknall.

“This is a volunteer organization that enriches the lives of older people and their families across Britain.”
