A host of fun and educational activities and events was enjoyed by year-seven pupils at Sutton Community Academy to mark Science Week.

The highlight was a visit from the ‘Street Science’ team at Newcastle University. It gave a workshop that brought science to life with a series of performances and demonstrations, which the youngsters were allowed to try themselves.

There was also a visit from Animal House Zoo in Chesterfield, which brought along animals including a skunk, meerkats, snakes and creepy crawlies. And the school staged its own sensory science event and solar system event.
