MUSIC lovers are being urged to help make a gig organised by Mansfield and Ashfield community group Save Our Scene (SOS) a roaring success.
The Acoustic Extravaganza will take place at Mansfield’s Intake Club on Saturday from 8pm onwards and the confirmed artists include Damon Downs Band, Wes Dolan, Elm Tree Row, 10 O’Clock Horses, Danny Apple, Andy Roberts, Marc ‘Marc Reeves’ Reeves, James Dalby and Dennis Johnson.
The SOS group was set up following the closure of the Town Mill in Mansfield in December last year, with an aim to regenerate the music scenes in Mansfield and Ashfield and provide opportunities for musicians in the area.
They recently became a Community Interest Company (CIC), which means that all profits are ploughed back into the group, which held their launch party at Mansfield’s Intake Club on 26th March.
Leader the SOS campaign is Maria Tucker, who is also a member of the band 10 O’Clock Horses, said: “We had over 1,000 guests come along at the launch party - it was a wonderful day.”
The line-up included Scarletswake, Manuka Honey, Suspended By Fate, Multitude of Sins plus many more.
