Santa pays a visit to King's Mill Hospital

Poorly youngsters on Ward 25 at King's Mill Hospital were treated to an early festive surprise when Santa Claus paid them a visit.

This year, Christmas was brought to the patients of King’s children’s ward, who were joined by Father Christmas for the morning.

Everyone’s favourite furry friend, Peter Rabbit, Four Seasons’ mascot Buzz, Warren the Rabbit who is Mansfield 103.2’s mascot, as well as members of the Four Seasons Shopping Centre team were all there to make their day extra special.

Santa and his helpers spent time talking to each child individually as well as handing out presents.

Rebekah O’Neill, Four Seasons Centre manager, said: “We always look forward to our annual visit to King’s Mill Hospital. Its so lovely to see all the little patients’ faces when Santa arrives. They all deserve to have a wondeful Christmas and what better way to do that than bringing it to them and seeing their faces light up when Santa arrived. ”

The children’s ward, at King’s Mill Hospital provides a welcoming and calm environment for young patients aged up to 18.

With 30 beds consisting of four bays and 16 private rooms, the dedicated ward is fully equipped to meet children and their family’s needs.

Nicola Armstrong, a play worker at Ward 25, one of the organisers of Santa’s visit to the to the hospital, said: “We always love it when the Four Seasons team visits with Santa and his furry friends.

"The days can be very long in here and this break from normality is something we all look forward to.

"Seeing the smiles on the children’s faces makes all the planning worthwhile. I’d go as far as to say that this little bit of happiness during a difficult time can even aid recovery.”
