Rugby player Tom heads back to school

Rugby star Tom Calladine has returned to his former school to help coach future stars and inspire the next generation of players.

The Nottingham RFC number eight and former Garibaldi College student worked with year seven and nine students in their PE lessons at the Forest Town school.

Students took part in a Rugby workshop to develop self-confidence in all areas of the game, which was organised by Mansfield businessman Malcolm Hall.

Tom gave the students an insight into professional Rugby, as well as useful tips during the sessions, a school spokesman said.

Headteacher Chris James told Chad: “Despite his success Tom is still a down-to-earth lad and our students really responded well to him. He gave them a good work out and also showed them the value of hard work.

“We are all really proud of the success that he is having and working with a professional sportsman has been an inspiration to our students.”
