In a post on their Facebook page they said: “Please note it is with regret, we have had to cancel the screening on Saturday, July 7, of the England v Sweden football match.

“We sincerely apologise for the disappointment and any inconvenience that this will cause our visitors who were looking forward to enjoying the match in the superb surroundings of Rufford Abbey, but, on reflection, due to the short turnaround between the qualifying and quarter final games, despite best efforts, we do not believe we could deliver this event to the safety standards that we normally work to.
