Mansfield is going ‘Fifty Shades Of Grey’ crazy ahead of Valentine’s Day -- and that’s official!
For Odeon, Europe’s largest cinema group, has revealed that the town is as high as seventh in the list of most pre-booked tickets to watch the film outside of London.
Liverpool tops the hotspots list with 2.6% of all bookings across the UK, ahead of Newcastle and Norwich. But not far behind, and just below Manchester, sits mighty Mansfield where fans are preparing to flock to the Odeon Cinema on Park Lane.
‘Fifty Shades Of Grey’, an erotic romance sharring Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan, opens this weekend to coincide with Valentine’s Day, and staff at the cinema have been busy preparing for an influx of fans.
The novel sold 100 million copies. Now the movie is selling tickets at an average of one every seven seconds, Odeon says, and is tipped to become the most pre-booked in the group’s history, beating the previous record-holder, ‘Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part 2’.
Odeon has stocked up on record levels of food and drink at its 238 sites across Europe, including enough popcorn to fill 13 double-decker buses!
