The countdown to the 30th-annual Robin Hood Festival is continuing and organisers are taking to social media to start the celebrations.
Characters from this year’s festivities are to be profiled as part of the county council’s Facebook ‘Festival Folk’ campaign which features videos and other activities in the run-up to the week-long festival.
Nottinghamshire County Council’s culture committee chairman, Coun John Knight said: “We are looking forward to this special anniversary of the Robin Hood Festival as it celebrates 30 years.
“Facebook Festival Folk was successful last year in providing a platform on social media for people to discuss the festival and we had interest from Robin Hood fans in America and other countries as well as across the UK.
“There will be daily profiles and updates about the festival on the website in the run-up to the festival and during the week itself.”

The Robin Hood Festival will run from 4th to 10th August at Sherwood Forest Country Park.
Attractions include jousting tournaments and interactive story-telling sessions, with the usual sideshows for entertainment, food and drink.
