Robin Hood Festival visitors warned of car park queues

Visitors to Sherwood Forest's Robin Hood Festival have been urged to use public transport to get to the event due to car park queues.

Nottinghamshire County Council said due to the construction works for the new visitors' centre there is likely to be queueing traffic between 11am and 3pm on Sunday.

A spokesman said: "There is a limited amount of parking at the Robin Hood Festival this year due to the construction works for the new Visitor Centre due to open in 2018. There is likely to be queuing traffic between 11am and 3pm over the weekend and once carparks are full, there is no alternative parking.
