RETRO VIDEO: Did you know the Mansfield couple who had a pet chimp?
Fifty years ago there was a woman in Mansfield who had a pet chimp which she dressed in baby clothes and pushed in a pram to see father Christmas.
Nostalgic footage in 1966 from British Pathe shows Rikki the 16-month-old chimp being washed and dried by Marie Wakefield.
She dresses him in a nappy and jumper and combs his hair.
The chimp plays on rocking horse and a swing.
Marie and her husband Jim push the chimp in a pram down to the shops. The video shows the exterior of the Co-op in Mansfield.
