The restaurant is owned by Franchisee, Jacqui Moore, who herself started working in restaurants more than 20 years ago, and ran McDonald’s in Birmingham, Nuneaton and Tamworth before becoming a franchisee.

She said: “It’s been a busy but rewarding first year at the restaurant.

“Owning a McDonald’s is a hands-on job, but I am incredibly proud of my staff who have strived on a daily basis to give our customers the best possible service every day.

“Hopefully the business will continue to grow this year, and we will be able to create more jobs locally.”

Through her hard work and dedication, she was shortlisted from more than 87,500 staff to manage the largest McDonald’s in the world on the Olympic Park.

This experience placed her in good stead to manage a multi-million pound business.

The South Normanton restaurant now features furniture recycled from McDonald’s 2012 Olympic Park restaurants, as well as energy saving solar panels, a Bose sound system, and free WiFi.

The restaurant is open 24/7 and takes in more than £2m a year.
