Residents' 'horror' after two people found dead at a Mansfield caravan park

Residents have spoken out after two people died at a caravan park in Forest Town.

They have been identified as 66-year-old Richard Thompson, a resident at the residential caravan park on Old Mill Lane, and his niece, 48-year-old Lisa Butler, of Mansfield.

Both were treated for their injuries by paramedics who were called to the residential address in Old Mill Lane just after 10pm on Tuesday, August 28. They were both pronounced dead a short time later.

Investigations into their deaths are ongoing and the access to the caravan park is still closed to the public.

One resident who lives across from the home were the incident happened said: "I didn't hear anything - I didn't know nothing till the next morning when I saw the police cars.

"We cant get nothing out of the police."

Another resident said: "We just use to say hello to Richard when we saw him.

"It's just horrible."
