The Teversal, Stanton Hill and Skegby Forum will put together a ‘Neighbourhood Plan’ for the locality, which will establish where the community would prefer to see developments be built and which parts of the area need protecting.

A meeting is taking place on 23rd September at 6.30pm at Teversal Manor Room to formally launch the forum and confirm its constitution.

Teversal resident Richard Goad said that anyone who wants to be part of the forum or find out more about the plan is welcome to attend.

“The forum will be putting together the plan,” he said.

“It will be researching the area, researching the need and defining the various aspects that will go into the plan itself.”

Neighbourhood plans were introduced by the Localism Act and allow people to have a say on what is the right type of development for their community by establishing general planning policies for the use of land.

After the plan has been written and before it is formally adopted, a referendum for residents will be held.

Added Mr Goad: “We do feel that the local residents should have a say on development and there is a need for a plan.”
