Police searching for a man missing from his home in Bolsover are renewing their appeal for information on the one week anniversary of his disappearance.

John Stephen Porter, who is known as Stephen, has been missing from his home on Springfield Crescent since Tuesday, 14th May.

Mr Porter was last seen by his sister at 1am that day when he left her house in Bolsover. He was due to go on holiday with her later the same day but didn’t return.

His car, a silver Fiat Punto, was found at Carr Vale ponds, off Main Street in Bolsover.

Specially trained officers continue to carry out extensive searches of the Bolsover area. Mr Porter’s family and friends are also helping with the search for Stephen.

Detective Sergeant Steve Warren, who is leading the search for Mr Porter, said: “Stephen is a real family man and it is completely out of character for him to go missing.

“We continue to work closely with his family to search the local area and offer them support.

“We are becoming increasingly worried for his safety and I would urge Stephen or anyone who knows his whereabouts to contact police.”

Police are appealing to Mr Porter or anyone who has seen him to contact them on 101.
