Remembrance service at Warsop Cenotaph

Warsop Remembrance Service

Warsop and Meden Vale District Branch of the Royal British remembered the dead of two world wars and all service personnel killed since then, at a service at the town’s Cenotaph led by the Rector, the Rev Angela Fletcher.

A parade led by Welbeck Estates Brass Band made its way through the town from Carr Lane and included Parish, District and County Councillors, and representatives of the Fire Brigade and Police, as well as members of local groups and organisations.

Deputy Lord Lieutenant of Nottinghamshire, Mrs Alison Parente-Swan represented the Queen. A two-minutes’ silence was observed at 11am was followed by the Reveille.

All the names of soldiers killed during the two world wars were read out as wreaths were laid at both at the cenotaph and at the post 1945 memorial. Afterwards the parade made its way back to Carr Lane.
