THE Reindeer Rambling Club in Mansfield is looking for new members ahead of its latest trek on Sunday morning.
It has suffered a drop in numbers in recent years and is looking for new walkers to join them on its frequent countryside ambles.
Sunday’s scenic walk through Derbyshire starts in Grindleford and finishes in Foolow with the journey passing by the River Derwent.
The ramble, which includes a pub lunch or picnic, will take in views of Higger Tor, Stanage Edge and Mam Tor as well as Kinder Plateau.
Reindeer Rambling Club member Fred Marsh says that the club would welcome new walkers of all ages to keep it going for years to come.
“We’ve had a drop in numbers in recent times so we’d like to see a few new people coming along on our walks,” said Fred, who is also a member of Sutton Rambling Club.
Sunday’s walk costs £9 and the coach leaves from The Reindeer Pub on Southwell Road at 9am and returns home from Foolow at 5pm.
There will be pick ups from The Rufford Arms, on Abbot Road, The Fox and Crown in Skegby with possible pick ups from elsewhere in Skegby and Tibshelf.
Anyone wishing to join the club or find out more information on upcoming rambles should contact either Fred Marsh on Mansfield 453038 or Barry on 471755.
