A FORMER lance corporal and an ex-fitness instructor are among the new constables sworn into Derbyshire Constabulary.
The 12 men and four women attended an attestation ceremony at police headquarters in Ripley last Friday when they swore an oath to the Queen and were presented with their warrant cards. The new recruits are aged between 22 and 37 and will serve across the county in areas such as Matlock, Clay Cross and Bolsover.
Chief Constable Mick Creedon said: “It’s always a proud moment to see new constables being sworn in. They’re at the start of an exciting career.”
