Record results for Sutton Academy results - ID

Staff and year 11 students at Sutton Community Academy on High Pavement have pulled it out of the bag with a record 69 per cent in students achieving A to C grades.

Karen Jones, assistant principal, said she is proud of both staff and students for their hard work.

“These results are our highest ever for the November entry and it is such a huge accomplishment for all our students.

“We became an academy last year so we are really pleased that our students have done exceptionally well in their English Language as it is a key GCSE and will set them up well for Post 16,” She said.

In a bid to do the best they could, students were undertaking around seven to eight hours of English lessons a week in preparation for the exams.

Ms Jones added: “Everyone has worked their socks off, the entire staff department got behind students with double English lessons so that they were as best prepared as they could be, well done.”
