Rare Royal footage on show at library

RARE footage of King George V’s visit to Mansfield Grammar School in 1928 and the Queen visiting the town in 1949 when she was still Princess Elizabeth is to go on show.

Mansfield Library is hosting a special screening of the footage as part of Mansfield’s cultural week from 7th to 14th July.

The footage is cared for at the Media Archive for Central England and also includes coverage of the Cantamus Choir in 1984 and a variety of gems from ITV Central News’ predecessor ATV Today.

Showings will take place on 9th, 11th and 13th July with doors opening at 12.30pm.
